Unscripted Announces Dates for Eighth Annual Third Coast Improv Festival in Nashville, TN

 

 

Nashville, TN - July 15, 2024 - Unscripted, a nonprofit organization that heals, empowers, and connects the Nashville community through improvisational theatre, is thrilled to announce dates for the upcoming Third Coast Improv Festival on November 7-9, 2024. This year's festival marks a significant milestone as all proceeds will support Unscripted’s commitment to increasing access to improv across Nashville. 

 

The Third Coast Improv Festival is Nashville’s only improv festival that attracts improv troupes and individuals across the country to perform a variety of unique comedic styles in the heart of Music City. Hundreds of performers, instructors, and comedy-lovers gather each year to celebrate and laugh throughout the weekend.. This is the eighth year that the festival will be held at Third Coast Comedy Club, Nashville's premier improv and comedy theater.

Submissions are currently open for prospective troupes to submit to perform.

"We couldn’t be more excited for Unscripted to lead this year’s Third Coast Improv Festival," says Emma Supica, executive director of Unscripted. "This festival has brought in thousands of incredibly talented and passionate artists over the years. Combining that with Unscripted’s mission to heal and empower communities through improv is a recipe for substantial impact across the country.”

The festival will be held at Third Coast Comedy Club’s multiple venues in Marathon Village, and will include:

  • Performances: Over 50 unique troupes from around the country will perform over the course of three days. Two headlining acts (TBA) will perform on Friday and Saturday night;

  • Workshops: Performers and attendees can participate in workshops led by experienced and diverse instructors, designed to enhance the skills of any improviser; and

  • Community Events: All attendees and performers can participate in panel discussions and other interactive activities that celebrate and explore the impact of improv.​

The Third Coast Improv Festival is an inclusive and accessible event. People of all backgrounds, capabilities, and experience levels are encouraged to participate and enjoy the festival.

Details for the Eighth Annual Third Coast Improv Festival are Released!

 

 

Nashville, TN - October 26, 2024 - The 2024 Third Coast Improv Festival, powered by Unscripted, is excited to announce the details for its eighth annual festival! 

This year, over 220 improvisers from 50 troupes around the country will gather in Nashville during the weekend of November 7-9. Headliners Ruby Rocket (New York, NY) and 3Peat (Chicago, IL) will take the stage at 8:30pm on Friday and Saturday night, respectively. 

 

In line with Unscripted’s mission to heal, empower, and connect communities through improvisational theatre, this year’s festival includes 11 unique workshops from expert instructors in the industry, including:

 

  • Mime & Physical Improv, taught by Jay Hitt (Seattle, WA)

  • Emotion. Emotion. Emotion., taught by Stacey Hallal (New York, NY)

  • Make A Move, taught by Nnamdi Ngwe (Chicago, IL)

  • Improv to Sketch, taught by Patrick Rowland (Los Angeles, CA)

  • Pay It Forward, taught by Amanda Breen (New York, NY)

  • Yes And Your Writing, taught by Tami Sagher (Chicago, IL)

  • NY Style Game, taught by Lou Gonzalez (New York, NY)

  • Be Here, Now!, taught by Yoni Lotan (New York, NY)

  • Honestly, Look Inside, taught by Eric Simons (Saint Paul, MN)

  • Demystifying Monoscene, taught by Ashley Rube and Ryan Meyers (St. Louis, MO)

  • Building Character, taught by Stacey Hallal (New York, NY)
